On 6 February 2026, the Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) submitted a response to the consultation on the amendment to the Financial Institutions Act (payment institutions and crypto-asset service providers) initiated in October 2025 by the Federal Council. In its submission, the CMTA welcomes the proposed amendment to Swiss law, in so far as it facilitates the issuance of stablecoins in Switzerland, whilst proposing some clarifications to the text.
